Getting here ...

  • Note that Santa Barbara is small and a rental car is not necessary to access downtown and the beaches.

  • Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is located 15 mins north of downtown.  It's served best by United, American and US Airways.  Most of the flights will connect via Los Angeles or San Francisco but you can pick up jet connections via Denver, Dallas and US Airways.  Continental and Southwest do not serve SBA at all and only the regional jets / turbo props fly into SBA.

  • Los Angeles (LAX) is located about 90 miles south and is an easy drive up provided you are off peak (10 AM -  3PM or after 7PM) otherwise it can be miserable!  From LAX take the 405 North to the 101 North.  Exit Carrillo St. for downtown Santa Barbara.
The Santa Barbara Airbus is another option if you don't want to rent a car (you won't need a car when you are here):

Staying here ...

We have room blocks set aside under Rector/Fraser at the following hotels:

  • DoubleTree - Right across from East Beach.  Great amenities.  It's too far to walk but there the electric shuttle runs the stretch of Cabrillo St. (beach drive) and connects to another shuttle which runs up State St.  Rate is $209 on Thu and $249 on Fri and Sat.  Brandi and I are staying here Sat night.  Phone: 805-564-4333
  • Hotel Oceana - Across the street from the beach and the pier.  Down the street from the Double Tree (more towards downtown).  Rate: $165-$190.  Call 800-965-9776 and mention Rector/Fraser.

Other Hotels (no reserved rate but all are good locations/options):

  • Hotel Santa Barbara - Located right on State Street in the heart of downtown.  Rates start at $189
  • Castillo Inn - Right across from the beach (opposite end as the DoubleTree) and easy walk to the pier and marina.  Rates start at $160
  • Holiday Inn - Around the corner from Hotel Santa Barbara in the heart of downtown.  Rates start at $200.

Other options:

  • House Rentals - There are lots of great house rental options and some can be very reasonable as it's off season.  If you are curious about any of the houses or locations, just let us know and we'll check 'em out.  In general, the areas you'll want to be in are Mesa, Riviera, Downtown, or San Roque.
  • Other hotels - We don't have discounted rates but if you are so inclined, the Biltmore (Four Seasons) and the Bacara are amazing resorts and spas.

While you are here ...

Downtown Santa Barbara, the beach, pier and marina areas are easily accessible on foot, bike (easy rental options) or the electric shuttle.  There will be shuttle buses to take you to and from wedding.  If you prefer to drive yourself, there's plent of parking at Crossroads Estate.
